Pratistha Koirala, MD PhD, is a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Danbury Hospital. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut after which she matriculated into a medical scientist training program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her PhD, in Molecular Pharmacology, focused on defining the immune microenvironment and novel drug targets in osteosarcoma.
Dr. Koirala began her involvement in both her state medical society and the AMA during medical school and has held multiple leadership positions during this time. She is currently a delegate to the AMA and serves on her state society Resident and Fellow Section Board. She has also previously served on the Council and PAC board of the Medical Society of the State of New York.
Dr. Koirala was born in Nepal. She has lived in Vancouver, Canada, Connecticut, and New York City.
