Dr. Sion Roy is a cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harbor UCLA, a large public hospital in Los Angeles County. Additionally, he serves as the Director of the Inpatient Cardiac CT program and Associate Cardiology Fellowship Program Director. In addition to serving on the AMPAC board, Dr. Roy is past President of the Los Angeles County Medical Association, immediate past Chair of CALPAC (California Medical Association PAC), and has served as a trustee for the California Medical Association as well.
Dr. Roy is also active in his community, and is an elected trustee to Santa Monica College (SMC) in a district including Santa Monica and Malibu, California. In addition to his healthcare policy advocacy, he is passionate about increasing educational access for all students. He has served as the Chair for the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD) Health and Safety Committee and Vice-Chair for SMC's bond committee. Additionally, he is past President of the Santa Monica Democratic Club and is a delegate to the California Democratic Party.
Sion is married to Dr. Kathleen Ruchalski, a radiologist at UCLA. They have one son, Kiran, and live in Malibu.
